Welcome to my online portfolio! I am Ray Opoku and here, I share my journey and work in hopes that you get to know me and my work better. Look around and you will find my thoughts and samples PhD work and projects.
I am a data management engineer and economic policy enthusiast working on my PhD in Educational Technology at the University of Florida, FL. I am Holmes Scholar at UF College of Education and the 2022 Gleim Research Fellow. I am passionate about the wholistic approach to learning, traveling, photography and collaborating with people.
My research interest is in the adopting Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and data mining tools to draw insights from various learning management systems with special focus on algorithmic bias and Fair AI. I am a member of the AICE Lab (Advanced and Inclusive Computing for Education).
I am originally from Ghana - West-Africa and a proud alumnus of South Dakota State University where I obtained an MSc. Economics and MSc. Data Science and The University of Cape Coast - Ghana, West-Africa where I studied Economics and Statistics. I have worked in various countries including South Africa, Kenya, UAE, and England.
I am an idealist and strategic thinker.
